Mount the specimen on the bend fixture. For Procedure A, make sure the loading nose is in the middle of the supports. If a deflectometer is used, orient the tip in the upright orientation and position it under the specimen at the center of the support span.

Apply the force at a constant crosshead speed specified in the standard. Measure and record the force-deflection data. Measure the deflection by the deflectometer. To calculate the flexural strength, apply load until failure.
