The Weimar Republic for example, had a severe economic crisis in the opening years of the decade, because of the debt caused by the war and by the Treaty of Versailles. In the long term, these economical problems led to the rise of the Nazi Party. Nazism was not the only radical political movement that rose during the 20s.
